I cannot recommend Mary enough as a driving instructor. With over 12 months she has worked with me through her work with the Irish Wheelchair Association. Over 20 years ago, I took up driving but had a bad experience and gave up. In the last 18 months or so, I plucked up the courage to try again. I was given the name of a man who might be able to provide lessons for me, but he told me I was outside his area, but said he knew of a lovely woman, by the name of Mary Price who operates from Kilkenny who might be able to help.
Living in a very remote area, Mary came to my house and went through everything with me. In a short time, I had all I needed and lessons began in Dungarvan, Co. Waterford where Mary travelled on a very frequent basis. At first, I had no car of my own and used her adapted car till I was in a position to get my own.
Nothing was ever a problem to Mary. She was always very attentive and very patient and gave me all the confidence that I needed, which was a lot.
Some weeks ago, I was to sit my driving test, and Mary came down that morning to bring me out for a spin before the test, getting any nerves that might be there out of the system. However, on the day, disaster struck. While out for the pre-test drive, the glass fell out of the wing mirror of my car. My confidence on the day was gone. However, with Mary allowing me to use her car, I sat the test. With my confidence on the day shattered with what happened, it was no real surprise to me that I made some stupid mistakes, not fully concentrating on what I was doing, and the test did not go my way.
Mary sat in the car with me and we spoke for a while. She encouraged me to keep going, to do it again and hopefully there would be no mishaps second time around, and came down for a few lessons in between.
Today, I again sat the test, and passed it flying colours. Anybody looking for a driving instructor that’s polite, attentive and who will do all they can for their students, should go no further than Mary Price. I can’t thank her enough for all she has done for me, and would fully recommend her to anyone.
